Trigger Finger (poem)
By Jim Hale
[Printer-Friendly Version]
It's followed me throughout my life
A product of the war and strife
My right arm for so long it carried
Long before my wife I married
The force inside my lizard brain
Controls my fist oh please explain
The faceless shapes that wreck my sleep
And fear too tangled and too deep
That's buried somewhere in my head
Left scars where peace should be instead
Some wounds don't fade, they only linger
It started with my trigger finger
