From 2.5 pages of text in a Chomsky paperback* (poem)
By John Crandell
[Printer-Friendly Version]
Stunning clarity: that we had to bomb Vietnam
in defending Vietnamese from somebody else
"Since nobody else was there"
the truth of matters get buried
"Under edifice after edifice
of lies upon lies"
When too many people
begin to understand
Such thoughts need rearrangement
into a strange form of sanity
"That whatever we do is right"
be it in Central America, the Middle East
Or Chile
if the average American thinks approximately
100 thousand Viet civilians were annihilated by US
despite millions having died thus
No wonder that inside Oval Office
JabbaSaurus once sat, and sits again
Will Berkely or MIT be bombed
in saving Americans from somebody else?
